About Us
The Friends of Moccasin Lake believe that it is imperative that one of the last truly natural green spaces in the most developed county in Florida must be protected and maintained for current and future generations to visit, learn and celebrate what "Old Florida" used to look like. The Friends of Moccasin Lake is a 501C3 nonprofit organization.
We ask that you visit our magnificent Nature Park and enjoy some birding, hiking, or just sit and enjoy the sounds of nature that few places can offer in today's ever changing and complicated world.
The Park
The park is open
Tuesday - Sunday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
(Trails close to new visitors at 4:15 p.m., gate closes at 4:30 p.m.)

Moccasin Lake is a 51-acre nature preserve with trails and boardwalks under a canopy of mature oaks and across ponds and creeks, with an array of wildlife including gopher turtles, raccoons, and many birds.
Moccasin Lake is home to injured Birds of Prey. The birds are healthy but have been deemed non-releasable.
Education
Moccasin Lake staff, volunteers, clubs and societies offer a variety of educational and engaging programs for all ages like guided hikes, school programs, guest speakers, archery classes, and much more! Find out more by clicking on the following link:
